Why You Should Start Journaling (And How to Make It Fun)
Hey! It’s your host Himanshi, and today I want to talk about why you should start journaling and how simple it really is.
Most people overthink journaling. They feel they need a perfect topic, beautiful handwriting, or some deep emotional story to begin. But the truth is, you don’t need any of that. Journaling isn’t technical and it doesn’t follow strict rules. It’s your space, and you get to shape it however you want.
You Don’t Need a Topic
Some of my best journal pages came from days when my mind felt completely blank. You don’t need a theme or a plan. You just start. Let your hands move. Stick something down. Write one line. That alone can turn into something you love.
Start With What You Have
All you need is a page and a few things that make you smile. My very first journal page was a junk journal about me ordering McDonald’s at home. I used the paper bag, the straw, the bill, even the little sticker. I didn’t plan anything—it was just fun. And it turned out so cute that I started doing junk journaling almost every day.
Journaling Is Therapy You Can Touch
There’s something calming about putting together a page. You forget your stress for a while and get lost in the little details. It feels like your brain finally takes a breather. That’s why journaling becomes addictive in the best way.
If You Have a Mini Printer, You’re Basically Lucky
If you have a phone and one of those tiny printers that print little photos instantly, you’re already halfway into the journaling world. You can document your day, your mood, your food, your moments… and your journal becomes your memory book. And yes, I’m totally jealous. Just kidding.
Don’t Aim for Perfect
Journaling is meant to be messy, real, and personal. If something sticks crooked, leave it. If you scribble something weird, keep it. The imperfections make it yours.
